In session, we will work at a pace that is resonant with your emotional and sensory experience - enabling greater understanding of feelings and attitudes that have historically been passed over.  We will wrap up the session by taking time to ground what we have learned so that you can integrate this new awareness into your day-to-day life.
Many years of practice in Vipassana meditation has been a primary influence in my work as a therapist.  I believe in the client’s innate capacity for healing and work to encourage that inner drive towards vitality and growth by providing a safe and meaningful context for reflection and change.  My specialties include understanding and working with the roots of self-criticism, shyness, anxiety, and depression.  I also works with individuals and couples to help establish safe and clear boundaries in career, love, and family relationships -- leading to happier and more meaningful connections.
Prior to starting my practice in Noe Valley, I worked and trained as a therapist at the Golden Gate Integral Counseling Center for two years.  In addition, I counseled at-risk youths in the San Francisco Unified School District.  Both were enriching experiences that gave me a solid foundation to begin this life-changing work.
I received my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.  I see therapy as a collaborative process between therapist and client.  In the initial session, we will examine your goals, hopes, and reasons for seeking therapy.  Then, working together, we will move towards gaining greater clarity, focus, and understanding in those areas. robyn lemaire [home] [workshops] [therapists]
